Me and a friend live long distance and want to play fable and halo together co-op but I have a one and she a 360. So I was wondering if the backwards compatibility would let us play multiplayer. This means you can jump into a game, connect with your friends, and play through the Xbox network just as you’ve always done. That’s right, your game saves are just the same wherever and whenever you play, so you can pick right back up from where you left off. So grab your PC and stream Outriders or Doom on your iPad using your saved game. To play Xbox console games from the cloud on your device you’ll need the following: i. An active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership in a supported region ii. A supported device including Windows 10 PCs, Apple or Android phones and tablets iii. A compatible controller connected via Bluetooth or USB. Select games can be played with Xbox touch.

When you have the large LCD screen that comes with the iMac, it's no surprise that you'd want to take advantage of it for such things as gaming or watching movies. If you want to connect your Xbox to your iMac to play your games on the large screen, it can be done. While it's a task that does require extra hardware, rest assured that if you follow instructions carefully, you can accomplish this task.

Step 1

Connect the mini display side of your mini-display-to-HDMI adapter to the back of your iMac.

  • If you have game pass ultimate you can play through xcloud streaming through the web browser but try with a trial first to see how well it works on your internet (and if it’s available in your region at all). You don’t need a console but would need a Bluetooth controller. Any game listed as available on game pass cloud you’re good to play.
  • I am VERY angry and at my wits end with this game. I purchased The Sims three exactly one year ago, I played it on my iMac for six months without ANY.

Connect the other side of the mini display cord to the corresponding port in your adapter box.

Plug in the adapter box and turn on any power buttons, if applicable. Turn on the Xbox.

Step 5

Press 'Command-F2' to switch from the iMac display mode to the Xbox display mode. Your Xbox interface should now appear on your iMac screen.
